This training will provide an introduction to Housing Court Procedure and Motion Practice.  Topics that will be covered include (but are not limited to): NY Statutes Governing Housing Court, Life Cycle of a Housing Court Case, Pleadings, Motions, and Post-Judgment Practice Issues.

    Robert Hammond (Speaker)

    Bob Hammond is the Deputy Director in the housing unit at Queens Legal Services. Bob joined Legal Services NYC's Bronx office in 2014 and worked primarily within the Tenant Rights Coalition project. Prior to arriving at LSNYC, Bob represented public housing tenants in class action litigation with the Shriver Center in Chicago. Bob graduated from the University of Chicago Law School in 2013.

    Alex Jacobs (Speaker)

    Alex Jacobs is a staff attorney in the housing unit at Queens Legal Services. He started in housing as a staff attorney at The Legal Aid Society's Bronx office and has been at Queens Legal Services since 2018. In his down time, Alex enjoys surfing, chess in the park, being unionized, and trying to find a solid restaurant to establish himself as a "regular" at, though the struggle continues. He received his J.D. from Northwestern University in 2016.
