The law governing the sale and financing of consumer automobiles is complex. In addition, government oversight agencies and nonprofit organizations have documented widespread deceptive and abusive practices in the car dealers industry. This training will provide an overview of some of the applicable federal and state provisions to assist CLARO volunteers in conducting initial intake interviews with CLARO visitors and in assisting them in preparing Answers in consumer credit actions involving auto loans. The training will examine common defenses and review discovery demands in these actions.
