DVD - Benefits for HIV+ Public Assistance Recipients

No CLE Offered. This training will provide a detailed look at the special benefits available to HIV positive recipients of public assistance benefits in New York City, specifically benefits provided through New York City’s HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA). We will discuss both the financial eligibility requirements for HASA benefits and the medical eligibility requirements for HASA benefits. The training will place a particular emphasis how HASA benefits differ from regular public assistance benefits and how to make sure that clients are receiving the maximum benefits to which they are entitled. We will also highlight the separate fair hearing process available for HASA clients. The training will include a series of budget scenarios which mimic real world fact patterns.
